The problem was when I tried to connect with wifi security I followed instructions I found from Dell which said to do the bits on the printer and then press the WPS button on the router. This didn't work and so I decided to try pressing the WPS button on the router first and then do the set up on the printer. This worked with no trouble and so I am able to print again.

If the network name and password are the same as the old router, then it may be having issues clearing the old network and password from the memory. You can try the setup, but try using the neighbors network, then fake a password. You should get the error message, then try your own network and the correct password.
